The program also looks across the border to Pakistan, which is purported to be a launching ground for militants to attack U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
What happens when the people who are supposed to uphold the law don’t? NCIS’ Tony Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) will find out in Tuesday’s episode, and we’ve got the mug shots to prove it.
CBS’ newcomer legal drama The Good Wife dropped much of the NCIS:LA lead-in at 10/9c, but was still the hour’s most-watched program with 13.7 million viewers. Jay Leno bounced back from its series low Monday with 6.8 million viewers, but still finished third to ABC’s Christian Slater-fronted newcomer, The Forgotten (TV), which was watched by 9.5 million viewers.
“[It's] the very nature of the work that these guys do. They’re undercover,” Brennan says. “They’re pretending to be someone else. They’re living a lie. And so it was always the idea that on the outside you have this old building. On the inside you have this high-tech operations center. So it’s a building within a building. It’s a building that’s undercover.”
Some initial suggestions put forth at the entertainment website mention the name of Kristen Bell as a good fit for the role. Bell, of course, is best known for lending the mysterious voice behind Gossip Girl on the CW hit and as the high school student slash detective on Veronica Mars.
This season, one show will once again try to pierce through Idol’s mighty armor, and judging from the show’s ratings history, it just might do so.
