Person Signed
I co signed for a car loan. Now the person I signed for can’t pay and neither can I. What are my options?
The loan is for my son.
Your best option is to try and sell the car now before the loan falls into collections. You might have to come up with some money to cover the balance, but it will be better to pay now rather than to pay later since you can suffer serious credit setbacks. Otherwise, if you don’t pay the loan, the car will be repo’d and you and your son will be liable for the difference after the car is sold by the lender. Good luck and I hope this helps.
