I just got the box set of The Velvet Underground called Peel Slowly and See?
As far as I know not many places carry it at all so I had to go to a local indie music store to get it. VU has an influence on my guitar playing as well. Being a 16 year old fan of them, the box set really shows the influence the band had and still does on many bands. The cover even has the peelable banana on it.Timeless !
I maintain that the demo versions of “I’m Waiting for the Man” and “Heroin” are just about the greatest things ever.
Something to ponder: Why does Lou Reed change the “I don’t know where I’m going” from “Heroin”‘s demo to “I know just where I’m going” for the studio version?
By the way, as cool as that is, there’s not a question.
